The Gaming Giant Brings Onboard Apex Legends Producer to Rescue Challenged Action Game Ambitious Title
The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to oversee the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently crafting the forthcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Management Shift Follows Poor Feedback
The new appointee steps into the leadership position at 31st Union following the dismissal of former leader Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing early showing last autumn.
Recently, 2K president a key figure notified employees about this organizational change through an internal memo, which emphasized that playtesting had revealed the necessity for a more defined vision.
The president expressed that the team is now reimagining Project Ethos with a revised approach, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.
A Pattern of Strategic Recruitment
This announcement follows a similar action taken by the publisher in August, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise development group.

Team—
I know you all just finished your meeting - I trust you’re as excited as I am with the positive developments. Last time I shared you all a update, I mentioned the following: “I believe in this team. You all are some of the most motivated and talented developers we have had the opportunity to work with - and we’re eager for that partnership to endure.”
Given your hard work and versatility, particularly over the past twelve months, you continue to prove that.
The gamer responses from last autumn’s Project ETHOS testing phase was informative. It confirmed the potential of a action-packed game but indicated we still had refinements needed. It revealed the need for a clearer identity.
It has been motivating to see how far you’ve progressed. You took the input to consideration and revamped the title with a renewed vision - one that’s ready to deliver on its potential to our players.
The trust in this project increases every day. To boost the remarkable progress you’ve made, I’m excited to welcome the new hire as the incoming Director of 31st Union. Following several months of talks, he officially joins us on next week.
His guidance and background in the PVP shooter field is extensive, having spent the last 15 years developing and overseeing some of the most popular series in gaming, including Call of Duty: Black Ops, and lately, Apex Legends.
Let’s together in welcoming him soon. We are all eager to continue observing the evolution of Project ETHOS in the months to follow.
David
